SKI is the procurement service and knowledge center for the entire public sector. They develop procurement agreements for goods, services and IT and help the state, municipalities and regions to create competition and lift the obligation to tender. They secure e-commerce and manage the contracts when the agreements are in operation. SKI's purpose is to create financial flexibility and sustainable purchasing solutions together with the public sector.
Before a supply agreement, SKI carries out a thorough market analysis to ensure that the agreements match the users' needs. They analyze procurement data and talk to suppliers, industry associations and users. In this way, they learn more about how the agreement can be put together taking into account as many considerations as possible. It could be, for example, that they divide the agreement into sub-agreements to make room for small specialized suppliers, or that they offer the agreement as a dynamic purchasing system, to create extra good conditions for innovation. In several of SKI's agreements, it is possible for the public customers to take local considerations into account. For example, a municipality that buys its food on SKI's agreement may well choose to buy its meat from a local producer.
